Give Your Loved One that extra care and attention while he or she is teething. The emerging of the teeth in infants is called teething. This process is something that cannot be avoided and is very hurting.

It starts at the age of 8months and is continued till the age of three. Babies become very cranky and irritable during the time of teething. This is a tough time both for the parent and the baby.

During the time of teething the baby tends to chew upon things that are hard, this gives them a sense of relief to their swollen gums. Because of this they also tend to catch on infection easily. Infection such as fever, diarrhea. Though it is a fact that teething and fever are not directly related .The cause may be different. There are cases when some child is born with a tooth or start teething within the few weeks. The reasons may be many.

The symptoms of teething usually start occurring two to three months before the actual teething commences. And recognizing these very symptoms is the best first step towards understanding your baby’s pain and anxiety. The indications are generally of the following nature:

1 Excessive drooling.
2 Surfeit cough due to the heavy-duty saliva excretion.
3 A rash due to the drooling.
4 The baby starts chewing anything and everything within its reach.
5 The gums often become sensitive and swelled up long before the actual teething starts.
6 The infant may develop flushed cheeks.
7 The baby looses his appetite and refuses to eat even after long intervals.
8 Mood swings form an integral and most high alert symptom before teething starts. This will include crying time and again more than regular times, rubbing cheeks over and over again and pulling one’s own ears.

Home Remedies
There are few home remedies that could be followed to pacify your child.
1) Firstly keep your baby neat and clean. When teething the baby drools because of which a lot of saliva comes out. Always wipe off the face with a clean cloth to prevent it from rashes.

2) Chewing is a common action done by every baby. It gives them a sense of satisfaction. So you can give them a wet washcloth, which is frozen for 30 minutes. This can be a good teething aid.

3) Teething Rings are available in the market. Make sure it is big enough so that the baby does not swallow it. Rubbers teethers are good. Do not give the ones that have water as it may break and the water will leak out.

4) The best is  you can give your fingure to chew. You can gently massage the gums this will give the infant a relax feeling. Make sure you wash your hands clean before you do that.

5) Natural Teething Gels: A few of these gels are available in the market. They have proved to be lifesavers for some parents. They give the infant relief for some time.

6)There are many baby blankets that are available in the market. A teething blanket is where the blanket is covered with tethers on the four corners of the blanket. Each tether is made up of a soft plastic fiber that helps the gums to soothe thereby reducing the pain. Each tether is of a different color and shape.

It is not yet been proved how and when does the teething pain starts. Firstly the infant at that age is not able to talk. With his or her action the parent can make out that the baby is going through pain. Teeth pain and its remedies are very difficult to evaluate scientifically. The entire study here depends only on observation of the parent and the caretaker. So take the necessary step to reduce the teething pain of your loved one.
